Try this again....

Wow, so I chickened out! Wouldn't be the first time and probably not the last. So much has happened since the last time I blogged. Is that the correct term? Let's see.....I went to work full time last month. I am now a preschool aide at a Catholic School. I love it! My husband will continue the long road to being a Permanent Deacon next weekend. His Rite of Candidacy is next Sunday. We are so excited! I am still the PSR Coordinator at our parish and will be co-teaching our First Holy Communion Class with my husband this year. We are down to one child at home now, our boy J.R. who is 10. Our girls have left the nest. May not sound like a lot going on but it is for me.

I felt prompted to get back on here after recent events. I have been verbally attacked by people about my faith. One called it nonsense tonight. I was enraged to say the least. I know it is just as much his right to defend his lack of faith as it is my right to protect my strong sense of faith. I will defend the Catholic Church with all that I have. It breaks my heart to see people have no faith in God, I think what is worse is to see people who once had it, lose it. I believe most non-believers are people who have had something bad happen in their lives that has made them hurt or angry. Maybe they are looking for someone to lash put at and unfortunately, they choose the One person Who will always be there for them. I hope and pray that everyone will find the relationship with God that I have.

In no way am I saying that I am perfect or the best Christian out there. I have a lot to learn and a lot of growing to do. When I went through RCIA, Father Paul told us that our education does not stop when we are confirmed. It is on-going and our responsibility to continue learning. He also added that it goes for all Catholics even Cradle Catholics, there is always something new to learn.

Along with that goes the responsibility to evangelize, not just Catholic Christians, but all Christians. I do not shove it down people's throats. I do not stand on street corners shouting about it. I do share it when I have the opportunity. Not just with my words but my actions, behavior, what I do, and what I do for a living...as meager as that is. Social media sites and  blogs are great outlets as well. I think the best way to evangelize is how we treat others. The Two Greatest Commandments of all is the best way....
  1. Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thy whole heart, and with thy whole soul, and with thy whole mind, and with thy whole strength;
  2. Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
Hope I didn't ramble too much. My plan this weekend is to tell my story of conversion....I need to sleep on it though.
